This collection consists of late-nineteenth and early-twentieth century bookplates designed by various artists, primarily including those designed by F & M alum David McNeely Stauffer. Although Stauffer spent most of his career as a civil engineer, he was noted for his work as a copper and steel engraver and designed bookplates for many prominent libraries including Franklin and Marshall.
